DZOFILM Arles Zoom 65-180mm T2.6 Full Frame Parfocal Cine Zoom Lens for PL Mount — Full Frame 65-180mm telephoto cine zoom lens, constant T2.6, Parfocal, 7 ED + 2 HRI elements, 16 iris blades, lightweight at 1,782 g

DZOFILM Arles Zoom 65-180mm T2.6 is a telephoto cine zoom lens for Full Frame. The 65-180mm range runs from short telephoto to long telephoto, letting you move from a portrait or Medium Shot to a more distant Close-up without changing lenses. 2.8x zoom ratio with a constant T2.6 aperture throughout the zoom range, so you can change focal length without resetting exposure. Parfocal design with a Quad-Synchronized zoom mechanism holds focus while zooming, with Focus Breathing so slight it is barely noticeable. The Four-Group Linkage optical system uses 20 elements in 8 groups, including 7 ED and 2 HRI elements, for Prime-level quality throughout the zoom range, along with a Low-Saturation Blue Coating that reduces flare and ghosting. Covers a Ø43.5mm Image Circle for full-area use on Full Frame cinema cameras. The 16-blade iris produces round, attractive bokeh and a smooth, cinematic focus falloff. Full set-standard specs: Ø95mm front diameter, M86 filter thread and M0.8 gears, ready for a Matte Box and Follow Focus. 270° focus rotation and 100° zoom rotation. This lens's 65mm end overlaps the 75mm end of the 25-75mm model, so the two pair as a two-lens set with no gap in focal range. Aluminum alloy body, approx. 1,782 g

FAQ

  • Q: Why does Parfocal matter?
A: Ordinary zoom lenses lose focus when zooming in or out and must be refocused every time, whereas a Parfocal lens holds focus throughout the zoom range, so you can zoom during a take without the image going soft. It is an essential feature of a cinema-grade zoom lens
  • Q: How is a T-stop different from an F-stop?
A: A T-stop measures the light that actually passes through the lens, accounting for losses from the glass elements and coatings, whereas an F-stop is a theoretical value. Cinema work uses T-stops so exposure matches across every lens in a set.
  • Q: Can a PL mount lens be used on Mirrorless cameras?
A: Yes, via the DZOFILM Octopus Adapter, which converts to Sony E, Leica L, Nikon Z, Canon RF, Fujifilm X and DJI DX. A user-swappable Canon EF conversion kit is also sold separately
  • Q: How do I choose between Imperial and Metric?
A: It is the unit on the focus ring scale. The lens is identical in every respect; only the numbers printed on the ring differ. Thai and European crews tend to prefer Metric (meters), while American crews prefer Imperial (feet). Choose whichever your focus puller is used to
  • Q: Can it be used with the Marlin 1.4x Extender?
A: Yes. With the Marlin 1.4x Extender, the zoom range becomes 35-105mm for the 25-75mm and 91-252mm for the 65-180mm, while remaining Parfocal. The maximum aperture becomes approximately T3.6–T3.7
