Amaran Lantern 65 — 65cm Round Softbox for Soft 360° Omnidirectional Light

The Amaran Lantern 65 is a 65cm (2 ft) lantern softbox that turns the hard light from a Bowens-mount COB light into soft light that spreads out in every direction. It fills the surroundings so the whole scene is lit naturally. It sets up in seconds, weighs just 800 g and comes with a carrying bag, making it suitable for both home studios and location shoots. 1-year Thai service center warranty.

FAQ

• Q: Can it be used with lights from other brands?
A: Yes, with lights that use a standard Bowens Mount. The distributor recommends using it mainly with amaran / Aputure lights. If you use it with another brand, check the mount size and the weight of the light head before ordering.
• Q: How is a Lantern different from a regular softbox?
A: A regular softbox sends light forward in one direction, while the Lantern spreads soft light out through 360°, so it suits ambient light and filling the whole room.
• Q: Is it hard to assemble?
A: No. It uses the Quick-Build system: just press to lock the frame so it opens into a sphere, then fit it onto the Bowens light. It takes only a few seconds.
