NiSi ATHENA Drop-In Filter PL Adapter (with Drop-In Clear Filter) — PL lens adapter with a rear drop-in filter slot; use one set of filters across every PL lens that fits the adapter (rear protrusion up to 25.8 mm)

NiSi ATHENA Drop-In Filter PL Adapter (with Drop-In Clear Filter) An adapter for mounting PL-mount cinema lenses on mirrorless cameras, with a drop-in filter slot between the lens and camera. Swap filters in seconds without a matte box or front filters, and use one set of filters across every PL lens that fits the adapter (rear protrusion up to 25.8 mm), regardless of front diameter. NiSi designed it to compensate for the focus shift introduced by the filter glass, so lenses still focus to infinity with a filter fitted. The filter does not obstruct rear elements that move during focusing, and lenses with a rear protrusion of up to 25.8 mm are supported. The front and rear mounts are 304 stainless steel, with a rubber dust and moisture seal on the camera side. The Standard kit includes 1 Drop-In Clear filter and is compatible with other NiSi ATHENA Drop-In filters, including True Color VND, True Color CPL, Black Mist, Allure Streak and FS ND. Available in 3 mounts: Sony E, Canon RF and Nikon Z. Official Thai Warranty

Key Features

  • Drop-in filter slot — Swap filters instantly between lens and camera, no matte box or front filters needed
  • One filter set for multiple PL lenses — No need to buy filters in multiple sizes for different front diameters
  • Normal infinity focus — NiSi builds compensation for the filter glass into the adapter, and the filter does not obstruct rear elements while focusing
  • Supports rear protrusion up to 25.8 mm — Works with the entire NiSi ATHENA PRIME PL-mount series and most PL lenses
  • 304 stainless steel mounts — Precision-machined on both lens and camera sides for a secure, durable fit
  • Dust and moisture seal — Rubber seal on the camera-side mount
  • Remote filter adjustment — The Drop-In True Color VND and CPL filters have 0.8 MOD gears for use with wireless lens control motors (sold separately)
  • Includes a Clear filter — 1 Drop-In clear filter in the kit, ready to use out of the box

Choose the mount for your camera

PL-E (Sony E) Sony E-mount cameras such as FX3, FX30, FX6, a7S III — 195 g

PL-Z (Nikon Z) Nikon Z-mount cameras such as Z9, Z8, Z6III, ZR — 229 g

FAQ

  • Q: How does the Standard kit differ from the Filmmaker Kit?
A: The Standard kit includes the adapter and 1 Clear filter. The Filmmaker Kit adds a True Color VND 1–5 Stop filter, a Black Mist 1/8 filter and a filter pouch. If you have no Drop-In filters yet, the Filmmaker Kit is better value.
  • Q: Does it work with PL lenses from other brands?
A: Yes, it works with most PL lenses, but the rear protrusion must not exceed 25.8 mm, so check your lens specs first. All NiSi ATHENA PRIME PL-mount lenses are compatible.
  • Q: Does it work with a camera cage?
A: The filter slot sits close to the camera body, so cages, top plates or accessories around the mount may block inserting or removing the filter, and some mounts may not accept the adapter with a filter in place. Remove the filter first, attach the adapter, then reinsert the filter. Check the clearance around the mount before building your rig.
  • Q: Can I still focus to infinity with a filter fitted?
A: Yes. NiSi designed the adapter to compensate for the filter glass, so lenses focus to infinity with a filter fitted.
