NiSi ATHENA PL Drop-In Filter Adapter Filmmaker Kit A ready-to-shoot kit for PL cinema lens users on mirrorless cameras, with 3 Drop-In filters: a True Color ND-Vario 1–5 Stop (0.3–1.5) with a 0.8 MOD gear for manual adjustment or a wireless lens control motor (sold separately), a Black Mist 1/8 for soft, cinematic highlight bloom, and a Clear filter, plus a filter pouch. The adapter mounts PL cinema lenses on mirrorless cameras and has a drop-in filter slot between the lens and camera. Swap filters in seconds without a matte box or front filters, and use one set of filters across every PL lens that fits the adapter (rear protrusion up to 25.8 mm), regardless of front diameter. NiSi designed it to compensate for the focus shift introduced by the filter glass, so lenses still focus to infinity with a filter fitted. The filter does not obstruct rear elements that move during focusing, and lenses with a rear protrusion of up to 25.8 mm are supported. The front and rear mounts are 304 stainless steel, with a rubber dust and moisture seal on the camera side. It is also compatible with other NiSi ATHENA Drop-In filters such as True Color CPL, Allure Streak and FS ND. Available in 3 mounts: Sony E, Canon RF and Nikon Z. Official Thai Warranty

  • Q: How does the Filmmaker Kit differ from the Standard kit?
    A: The Standard kit includes the adapter and 1 Clear filter. The Filmmaker Kit adds a True Color ND-Vario 1–5 Stop filter, a Black Mist 1/8 filter and a filter pouch, covering both exposure control and look from day one.
  • Q: Can I adjust the VND while shooting?
    A: Yes. The Drop-In True Color ND-Vario filter has a 0.8 MOD gear that you can turn by hand, or pair with a wireless lens control motor (sold separately) to adjust exposure remotely.
  • Q: Does it work with PL lenses from other brands?
    A: Yes, it works with most PL lenses, but the rear protrusion must not exceed 25.8 mm, so check your lens specs first. All NiSi ATHENA PRIME PL-mount lenses are compatible.
  • Q: Does it work with a camera cage?
    A: The filter slot sits close to the camera body, so cages, top plates or accessories around the mount may block inserting or removing the filter, and some mounts may not accept the adapter with a filter in place. Remove the filter first, attach the adapter, then reinsert the filter. Check the clearance around the mount before building your rig.
  • Q: Can I still focus to infinity with a filter fitted?
    A: Yes. NiSi designed the adapter to compensate for the filter glass, so lenses focus to infinity with a filter fitted.
