PDMOVIE SMART FUSION is a module that lets manual lenses autofocus on Sony cameras by using the camera's own AF system. It weighs only 1.2 grams and is 0.6 mm thick, thinner than a coin, nearly 100 times lighter than the first generation. It supports Wide AF, Spot Focus, Zone Focus, Focus Lock and Tracking, controlled by tapping the screen or half-pressing the shutter. No battery is required: it draws power directly from the camera with voltage and current protection, then sends focus commands over Bluetooth to drive the LiDAR motor. Installation is just twisting and pressing it into the Sony E mount, with no modification to the camera body. It works with manual E-mount lenses and with PL cinema lenses through an adapter, and it uses the LIVE AIR 4 SMART lens database together with AI to simulate real lens characteristics.

  A: Yes. SMART FUSION receives commands from the camera, but the part that turns the focus ring is the LIVE AIR 4 SMART motor. If you do not have a motor yet, choose the Kit option.

• Q: Can it be used with PL cinema lenses?
  A: Yes. Mount the PL lens through a PL-to-E adapter and SMART FUSION still communicates with the camera as normal, because it sits at the camera mount, not on the lens.
• Q: Can it be used with other camera brands?
  A: The SMART FUSION system is designed specifically for Sony E-mount cameras, because it needs to read focus commands from the Sony camera through the mount contacts. Other brands can still use the LIVE AIR 4 SMART LiDAR motor or wireless manual focus, but without the camera's AF system.
