FAQ

• Q: How does the L-8 differ from the LiveTrak L6?
A: The L-8 has more XLR mic inputs (6 vs. 2), 4 headphone outputs with separate monitor mixes, a TRRS smartphone input with Mix-minus and 6 Sound Pads, making it suited to multi-person podcasts. The L6 is smaller and records in 32-bit Float with no gain setting needed.
• Q: Does the L-8 record in 32-bit Float?
A: No. The L-8 records at up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, so gain must be set on each input before recording.
• Q: How do I take phone-in guests?
A: Connect a smartphone to the TRRS input with the included cable. The guest hears everyone on the show except themselves (Mix-minus), so there's no echo.
• Q: How long do the batteries last?
A: Recording 4 channels with phantom power off, alkaline batteries last about 1.5 hours and lithium about 5 hours. For long sessions or when using condenser mics, the included AD-17 adapter is recommended.
• Q: Does it work with iPhone / iPad?
A: Yes. In Class-compliant mode it works with iOS / iPadOS. Lightning models require the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (sold separately).
