Thypoch Simera 50mm F1.4 ASPH Full Frame Manual Lens for Leica M — Leica M 50mm F1.4 lens with 14 aperture blades and a De-Click switch for stills/video modes

Thypoch Simera 50mm F1.4 ASPH is a full-frame manual focus lens for Leica M mount. The 50mm focal length offers the view closest to human vision for natural-looking images, ideal for portrait, street and everyday photography. The wide F1.4 aperture delivers deep, beautiful bokeh and performs well in low light. An Aperture De-Click switch toggles between a clicked ring (for stills) and a silent, continuous ring (for video). 14 aperture blades produce smooth, round bokeh. The optical design has 8 elements in 6 groups with Aspherical / ED / HRI elements that reduce chromatic aberration and distortion for edge-to-edge sharpness. Minimum focus distance is 0.45 m.

FAQ

• Q: What is the De-Click switch for?
A: It switches the aperture ring between clicked (best for stills, so you can feel each stop) and silent continuous rotation (best for video, with smooth exposure changes and no click noise picked up by the mic).
• Q: Can I use it on cameras other than Leica M?
  A: Yes. Use an M adapter to mount it on Sony E / Canon RF / Nikon Z / Leica L / Fuji X.
• Q: How do 14 blades differ from 10 blades?
A: The more blades, the rounder the aperture, so bokeh is smoother and rounder, and it does not become polygonal even when stopped down.
