The Coman DF3 is a monopod dolly machined entirely from CNC aluminum alloy. With a max load of 30 kg, it handles anything from a mirrorless camera to a fully rigged cinema camera with monitor, lights and mic. The 2 in wheels rotate a full 360° and have damping to reduce vibration, so moving shots stay steady and wheel noise does not bleed into the mic while recording sound on set, a common problem with typical plastic-wheel dollies. It deploys and locks with a single button: one click and it is ready to shoot, with no screws to turn at each joint. 3 angle positions cover both low angles and ground-level tracking shots. The standard 3/8" thread works with monopods across brands, and Arca-Swiss support makes swapping cameras quick. • Q: What is the difference between a dolly and a slider?
  A: A slider moves the camera along a rail of limited length. A dolly rolls on wheels, so it can move freely in any direction across the floor without being limited by a rail, though it needs a reasonably smooth surface.
• Q: Why does wheel noise matter?
  A: If you record live sound during the scene, wheel friction noise gets picked up by the mic and is hard to fix in post. This model's rubber wheels with damping help a lot.
