Key Features

• Maximum aperture F1.4: the feature that sets this lens apart from competitors at the same focal length, offering excellent low-light shooting and smooth bokeh with an exceptionally shallow depth of field
• 28mm focal length (Wide-Angle): a favorite among street photographers, wide enough to capture plenty of environmental context while keeping proportions from distorting too much
• Leica M-mount (Full-frame): designed to work directly with Leica M Series rangefinders, giving users access to a quality lens at an accessible price
• High-quality construction: the lens is typically made of metal for a solid, durable feel, and the focus ring is designed to turn smoothly for precise manual focusing
• Well suited to documentary photography: the natural 28mm perspective combined with the distinctive f/1.4 rendering gives images a signature look that is engaging and full of emotion

FAQ

• Q: Where can you find a 28mm F1.4?
A: They're rare. Leica makes the Summilux 28mm F1.4, but it's very expensive — this lens is the better-value alternative.
• Q: Can you focus F1.4 on a rangefinder?
A: Yes, but the DOF is thin, so you'll need to get comfortable with rangefinder focusing first.
• Q: What is a signature look?
A: A lens's visual character — bokeh, color and contrast that differ from ordinary lenses.
