AstrHori MF 18mm F8 Full Frame Wide Angle Shift Lens — 18mm Ultra-Wide Full Frame Shift Lens with ±6mm Shift for Perfect Line Correction

The AstrHori MF 18mm F8 Full Frame Shift Lens is a compact, lightweight shift lens weighing just 164g. It offers ±6mm of shift and rotates through 360° with click stops every 45°, letting you correct the perspective of buildings and architecture without software. The 18mm focal length delivers a 99.2° wide-angle view, ideal for interior, architecture and real estate work, and it accepts 58mm front filters, something many shift lenses cannot do.

Key Features

  • Shift the optical axis up/down or left/right by up to ±6mm to correct converging lines (such as building edges) so they stay perfectly parallel, no software required.
  • The shift mechanism rotates a full 360° with detents every 45°, so you can correct perspective both vertically and horizontally.
  • 18mm wide-angle focal length with a 99.2° angle of view (on Full Frame), ideal for interiors or large landscapes where you want to capture as much as possible.
  • Compact and lightweight: at just 164g it is one of the most portable shift lenses available, great for travel and location shooting.
  • Fixed aperture locked at F8, a well-suited value for architectural photography, which typically calls for deep depth of field and maximum sharpness across the frame.
  • Metal construction and Multi-layer Coating: all-metal lens body that is strong and durable, with multi-layer coatings to reduce flare and improve color accuracy.
  • 58mm filter support: 58mm filters (e.g. UV, CPL, ND) mount directly on the front of the lens, a feature not found on many shift lenses.

Best For

  • Architecture Photography (correcting converging verticals)
  • Interior / Real Estate Photography
  • Wide-angle Landscape Photography
  • City views / Cityscape
  • Product Photography that needs perspective correction
  • Travel Photography with the lightest possible shift lens

FAQ

  • Q: How does a shift lens correct converging lines?
A: The lens shifts parallel to the sensor (Shift ±6mm), so the camera does not have to tilt up toward the building. You can capture tall buildings with lines that stay 100% straight instead of leaning into a "tent" shape.
  • Q: Is a fixed F8 aperture enough?
A: Yes. Shift lenses are mostly used for landscape and architecture, where deep depth of field is wanted anyway. F8 is a well-suited value, plus a short hyperfocal distance.
  • Q: Can I use ND / CPL filters?
A: Yes. There is a 58mm filter thread on the front of the lens for ND / CPL / UV filters, a strength that other brands' shift lenses lack.
