7Artisans MF 35mm F1.2 Mark II Manual APS-C Lens — Mark II 35mm F1.2 on APS-C with soft bokeh and clicked aperture

The 7Artisans MF 35mm F1.2 Mark II APS-C is an updated version with improved build quality. The extra-wide F1.2 aperture creates shallow depth of field and exceptionally smooth bokeh. The ~52.5mm FF equivalent view suits portraits, street and documentary work. The clicked aperture ring suits stills photographers who want precise control.

Key Features

  • The Ultimate Bokeh Creator: The wide f/1.2 aperture lets you create a very shallow depth of field with soft, beautiful bokeh, ideal for portraits that make your subject stand out from the background.
  • Low-Light Powerhouse: f/1.2 gathers exceptional amounts of light, letting you shoot sharp images in low light such as evenings or indoors without pushing ISO too high.
  • Classic Focal Length: 35mm on an APS-C sensor gives a field of view of approximately 52.5mm on full frame, the standard "human eye" focal length that is the most versatile for street, travel, documentary and portraits.
  • Improved Build Quality - Mark II: The Mark II has been refined with better build quality and an all-metal body for high durability.
  • Clicked Aperture Ring: One of the improvements over the previous version — the aperture ring has distinct clicks, so stills photographers can set the F-stop confidently and precisely.
  • Compact Design: Despite its wide aperture, the lens remains small and lightweight, easy to carry and well suited to mirrorless cameras where mobility matters.

FAQ

  • Q: How is Mark II different from the original?
A: Build quality is improved, and the aperture ring is now clicked (the original was de-clicked).
  • Q: Clicked vs de-clicked — which should I choose?
A: Clicked = precise for stills / de-clicked = smooth and silent for video — this model is aimed at stills.
  • Q: How is it different from the 35mm F1.4?
A: The F1.2 gathers more light and has softer bokeh / the F1.4 is smaller, lighter and cheaper.
