The AstrHori MF 14mm F4.5 is an ultra-wide lens for APS-C (~21mm equivalent on Full Frame) in a pancake design just 22mm thin and weighing 100-120g. It avoids fisheye distortion while keeping a wide view, making it suited to landscapes and architecture where straight lines matter. 6 elements in 5 groups with an aspherical lens and multi-coating, plus a 55mm filter thread — available in 2 colors, Black and Silver.

  • Serious wide angle with reduced distortion: an ultra-wide 14mm (21mm equivalent on Full-Frame) with an optical design that keeps distortion very low, unlike a typical fisheye — ideal for architecture and landscapes that need straight lines.
  • Pancake design (ultra-slim): small and exceptionally thin (only about 22 mm) and weighing just 100 - 120 g, so your camera stays easy to carry when traveling.
  • Fixed F4.5 aperture: a fixed F4.5 aperture makes shooting quick and simple, suited to street or landscape work that mostly uses this setting.
  • Good optical quality: 6 elements in 5 groups with an aspherical lens design to correct spherical aberration, plus multi-coating for sharpness and contrast.
  • Filter thread: a 55mm front filter thread (please check the correct filter size for your specific version) lets you use UV, ND and CPL filters to control light and expand your creative options.

FAQ

  • Q: What is the difference between wide-angle and fisheye?
    A: This is a true wide-angle (rectilinear) lens: straight lines stay straight, which suits architecture and landscapes. A fisheye bends lines into curves as an effect.
  • Q: Can the fixed F4.5 be used in low light?
    A: F4.5 is not very wide, but at 14mm with hyperfocal focusing you can work well with high ISO and slow shutter speeds. Astrophotography is possible to a degree, but if you mainly shoot stars we recommend an F2.0-F2.8 model.
  • Q: Does the Leica M mount version work with rangefinders?
    A: Yes, but images will be APS-C crop (the image circle covers APS-C only). Best for Leica M bodies with an APS-C crop mode.
