The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is a digital cinema camera that places the same 12K Full Frame RGBW sensor as the URSA Cine family in a box-shaped body that can be rigged freely. It delivers 16 stops of dynamic range and records Blackmagic RAW to dual CFexpress cards. It suits feature films, commercials, music videos and VFX work that demand the highest level of detail. It is available in three mounts: PL / EF / L-Mount.

Q: Which mount should I choose?
A: L-Mount suits newer Full Frame lenses and works with a wide range of adapters. EF suits those who already own Canon EF lenses. PL suits production-grade cinema lenses. The mount is permanently fixed and cannot be changed later.
Q: What type of card is required?
A: High-speed CFexpress Type B, or an external SSD via USB-C. For 12K recording, use cards that appear on Blackmagic's supported list.
Q: How does it differ from the PYXIS 6K?
A: The 12K model uses a 12K RGBW sensor, 16 stops of dynamic range and 10G Ethernet, while the 6K model uses a 6K sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range and 1G Ethernet.
